Then Moses called for all the leaders of Israel. He said to them, “Pick out a lamb or a young goat for your families, and kill the Passover animal.

The king ordered all the people to celebrate the Passover for the Lord their God as it is written in this Book of the Promise.

Since the priests and Levites had cleansed themselves, all of them were ⌞now⌟ clean. They killed the Passover lambs for all the people who had returned from exile, for the rest of the priests, and for themselves.

This is how ⌞you should be dressed when⌟ you eat it: with your belt on, your sandals on your feet, and your shepherd’s staff in your hand. You must eat it in a hurry. It is the Lord’s Passover.

Eat nothing made with yeast. Wherever you live, you must eat ⌞only⌟ unleavened bread.”

Tell the whole community of Israel: On the tenth ⌞day⌟ of this month each man must take a lamb or a young goat for his family—one animal per household.

The Lord answered Moses, “Bring some of the leaders of Israel with you, and go to where the people can see you. Take the staff you used to strike the Nile River.

So Moses went down and called for the leaders of the people. He repeated to them all the words that the Lord had commanded him.

“Go, assemble the leaders of Israel. Say to them, ‘The Lord God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, appeared to me. He said, “I have paid close attention to you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt.

The Lord answered Moses, “Bring me 70 Israelite men who you know are leaders and officers of the people. Take them to the tent of meeting, and have them stand with you.

and all of them drank the same spiritual drink. They drank from the spiritual rock that went with them, and that rock was Christ.

Faith led Moses to establish the Passover and spread the blood ⌞on the doorposts⌟ so that the destroying angel would not kill the firstborn sons.

The people of Israel camped at Gilgal in the Jericho plain. There they celebrated the Passover on the evening of the fourteenth day of the month.
