But the descendants of Israel had many children. They became so numerous and strong that the land was filled with them.

“I am God, the God of your father,” he said. “Don’t be afraid to go to Egypt, because I will make you a great nation there.

You will make this formal statement in the presence of the Lord your God: “My ancestors were wandering Arameans. There were only a few of them when they went to Egypt and lived as foreigners. But then they became a great, powerful, and large nation.

God blessed them and said, “Be fertile, increase in number, fill the earth, and be its master. Rule the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that crawl on the earth.”

So the Israelites settled in Egypt in the region of Goshen. They acquired property there and had many children.

God also said to him, “I am God Almighty. Be fertile, and increase in number. A nation and a community of nations will come from you, and kings will come from you.

I will make you a great nation, I will bless you. I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fertile, increase in number, and fill the earth.

You made their children as numerous as the stars in the sky. You brought them into the land you told their parents to enter and possess.

When your ancestors went to Egypt, there were 70 of them. Now the Lord your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.

He said to me, ‘I will make you fertile and increase the number of your descendants so that you will become a community of people. I will give this land to your descendants as a permanent possession.’

I will bless her, and I will also give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she will become ⌞a mother of⌟ nations, and kings will come from her.”

The Lord made his people grow rapidly in number and stronger than their enemies.

Your descendants will be like the dust on the earth. You will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. Through you and through your descendant every family on earth will be blessed.

I will certainly bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and the grains of sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of their enemies’ cities.

I will also give you as many descendants as the dust of the earth. If anyone could count the dust of the earth, then he could also count your descendants.

Then God said, “Let the water swarm with swimming creatures, and let birds fly through the sky over the earth.”

The Israelites left Rameses to go to Succoth. There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, plus all the women and children.

may the Messenger, who has rescued me from all evil, bless these boys. May they be called by my name and by the names of my grandfather Abraham and my father Isaac. May they have many children on the earth.”

I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and give all these lands to your descendants. Through your descendant all the nations of the earth will be blessed.

He took Abram outside and said, “Now look up at the sky and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” He also said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!”

The God of the people of Israel chose our ancestors and made them a strong nation while they lived as foreigners in Egypt. He used his powerful arm to bring them out of Egypt,

He moved on from there and dug another well. They didn’t quarrel over this one. So he named it Rehoboth [Roomy] and said, “Now the Lord has made room for us, and we will prosper in this land.”

But the more the Israelites were oppressed, the more they increased in number and spread out. The Egyptians couldn’t stand them ⌞any longer⌟.

Then Pharaoh added, “Look how many people there are in the land! Do you want them to quit working?”

He blesses them, and their numbers multiply, and he does not allow a shortage of cattle.

I made you grow like a plant in the field. You grew up, matured, and became a young woman. Your breasts developed, and your hair grew. Yet, you were naked and bare.
