Then all the people of Israel kept coming to the king. They asked, “Why did our cousins, the people of Judah, kidnap you and bring Your Majesty and your family and men across the Jordan River?”

He answered, “If the Lord doesn’t help you, how can I help you? I can’t give you something from the threshing floor  or the winepress.”

Any sensible person acts with knowledge, but a fool displays stupidity.

When a wise person goes to court with a stubborn fool, he may rant and rave, but there is no peace and quiet.

He never stops talking. No one knows what the future will bring, or what will happen after ⌞death⌟. Who can say!

Don’t be in a hurry to talk. Don’t be eager to speak in the presence of God. Since God is in heaven and you are on earth, limit the number of your words.

I turned my attention to study, to explore, and to seek out wisdom and the reason for things. I learned that wickedness is stupid and foolishness is madness.

When Herod saw that the wise men had tricked him, he became furious. He sent soldiers to kill all the boys two years old and younger in or near Bethlehem. This matched the exact time he had learned from the wise men.

The Pharisee was surprised to see that Jesus didn’t wash before the meal.

The experts in Moses’ Teachings and Pharisees were furious and began to discuss with each other what they could do to Jesus.

Some of the Pharisees asked, “Why are your disciples doing something that is not right to do on the day of rest—a holy day?”

The chief priests planned to kill Lazarus too.

On the fourth day they said to Samson’s wife, “Trick your husband into solving the riddle for us. If you don’t, we’ll burn you and your family to death. Did the two of you invite us ⌞just to make us poor⌟?”
