God's Word

The Lord our God commanded us to obey all these laws and to fear him. These laws are for our own good as long as we live so that he will preserve our lives. It’s still true today.

The Lord will protect him and keep him alive. He will be blessed in the land. Do not place him at the mercy of his enemies.

The Lord will support him on his sickbed. You will restore this person to health when he is ill.

He has kept us alive and has not allowed us to fall.

Moses answered the people, “Don’t be afraid! God has come only to test you, so that you will be in awe of him and won’t sin.”

On the heels of humility (the fear of the Lord) are riches and honor and life.

If you are wise, your wisdom will help you. If you mock, you alone will be held responsible.

Tell the righteous that blessings will come to them. They will taste the fruit of their labor.

I will give them the same attitude and the same purpose so that they will fear me as long as they live. This will be for their own good and for the good of their children.

But first, be concerned about his kingdom and what has his approval. Then all these things will be provided for you.

Jesus told him, “You’re right! Do this, and life will be yours.”

Moses writes about receiving God’s approval by following his laws. He says, “The person who obeys these laws will live because he obeys them.”

Israel, listen to the laws and rules I am about to teach you. Obey them so that you will live and be able to enter and take possession of the land that the Lord God of your ancestors is giving you.

But you were loyal to the Lord your God and are still alive today.

As long as you live, you, your children, and your grandchildren must fear the Lord your God. All of you must obey all his laws and commands that I’m giving you, and you will live a long time.

The Lord led us out of there to bring us here and give us this land he promised to our ancestors with an oath.

Be careful to obey every command I give you today. Then you will live, and your population will increase. You will enter and take possession of the land that the Lord promised to your ancestors with an oath.

So he made you suffer from hunger and then fed you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had seen before. He did this to teach you that a person cannot live on bread alone but on every word that the Lord speaks.
