Faithfully obey the laws, rules, teachings, and commands that he wrote for you: ‘Never worship other gods.

These are the commands the Lord gave Moses on Mount Sinai for the Israelites.

“Remember the teachings of my servant Moses, the rules and regulations that I gave to him at Horeb for all Israel.

These are the commands and rules the Lord gave the Israelites through Moses on the plains of Moab near the Jordan River across from Jericho.

Laws were given through Moses, but kindness and truth came into existence through Jesus Christ.

The Israelites were east of the Jordan River in Moab when Moses began to review God’s teachings. This is what he said:

“Whoever doesn’t obey every word of these teachings will be cursed.” Then all the people will say amen.

The Lord God of your ancestors is giving you a land flowing with milk and honey, as he promised you. After you’re in that land, write all the words of these teachings on the stones.

Write clearly and carefully all the words of these teachings on the stones you set up.”

Moses gave us these teachings. They belong to the assembly of Jacob.

The cities were Bezer on the desert plateau for the tribe of Reuben, Ramoth in Gilead for the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan for the tribe of Manasseh.

These are the commandments, laws, and rules Moses gave the Israelites after they had left Egypt.

These are the kings of the land east of the Jordan River that the people of Israel defeated. Israel also took possession of their lands from the Arnon Valley to Mount Hermon, and all the eastern plains.
