Or has any god ever tried to come and take one nation away from another for himself? The Lord your God used his mighty hand and powerful arm to do this for you in Egypt. He did this using plagues, miraculous signs, amazing things, and war. He did his great and awe-inspiring deeds in front of you.

Who is this king of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty! The Lord, heroic in battle!

In front of their ancestors he performed miracles in the land of Egypt, in the fields of Zoan.

He said to his people, “There are too many Israelites, and they are stronger than we are.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Lift your hand toward the sky, and a darkness ⌞so thick⌟ that it can be felt will come over Egypt.”

Then Pharaoh’s officials asked him, “How long will this man hold us in his grip? Let the Israelite men go to worship the Lord their God. When will you realize that Egypt is ruined?”

Then Moses said to the people, “Remember this day—the day when you left Egypt, the land of slavery. The Lord used his mighty hand to bring you out of there. Don’t eat anything made with yeast.

That day the Lord saved Israel from the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the seashore.

“Who is like you among the gods, O Lord? Who is like you? You are glorious because of your holiness and awe-inspiring because of your splendor. You perform miracles.

‘You have seen for yourselves what I did to Egypt and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to my mountain.

Now, go! I am sending you to Pharaoh so that you can bring my people Israel out of Egypt.”

“Tell the Israelites, ‘I am the Lord. I will bring you out from under the oppression of the Egyptians, and I will free you from slavery. I will rescue you with my powerful arm and with mighty acts of judgment.

But I will make Pharaoh stubborn. Even though I will do many miraculous signs and amazing things in Egypt,

Wake up! Wake up! Clothe yourself with strength, O Lord! Wake up as you did in days long past, as in generations long ago. Didn’t you cut Rahab  into pieces and stab the serpent?

I will fight you in anger, fury, and rage with my powerful hand and my mighty arm.

You brought your people from Egypt with miraculous signs and amazing things, with a mighty hand and a powerful arm, and with great terror.

When we cried out to the Lord, he heard us, sent a messenger, and brought us out of Egypt. “Now we’re here in Kadesh, a city on the edge of your territory.

The Lord your God, who is going ahead of you, will fight for you as you saw him fight for you in Egypt

He is your glory. He is your God, who did for you these spectacular and awe-inspiring deeds you saw with your own eyes.

Remember today the discipline you learned from the Lord your God. (⌞I’m not talking⌟ to your children. They didn’t see or experience any of this.) You saw and experienced his great power—his mighty hand and powerful arm.

Then the Lord used his mighty hand and powerful arm to bring us out of Egypt. He used spectacular and awe-inspiring deeds, miraculous signs, and amazing things.

You also saw those terrible plagues, those miraculous signs, and those spectacular, amazing things.

You are blessed, Israel! Who is like you, a nation saved by the Lord? He is a shield that helps you and a sword that wins your victories. Your enemies will come crawling to you, and you will stomp on their backs.”

Moses used his mighty hand to do all the spectacular and awe-inspiring deeds that were seen by all the Israelites.

Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God used his mighty hand and powerful arm to bring you out of there. This is why the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the day of rest as a holy day.

Tell them, “We were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt, but the Lord used his mighty hand to bring us out of there.

You saw with your own eyes the terrible plagues, the miraculous signs, and the amazing things the Lord did. He used his mighty hand and powerful arm to bring you out. He will do the same thing to all the people you’re afraid of.

They are your people. They belong to you. You used your great strength and powerful arm to bring them out ⌞of Egypt⌟.

When your ancestors cried out to the Lord, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians. He made the sea flow back and cover them. You saw for yourselves what I did to Egypt. Then you lived in the desert for a long time.

Be humbled by God’s power so that when the right time comes he will honor you.
