“May the tribe of Reuben live and not die out, though their people are few in number.”

While Israel was living in that region, Reuben went to bed with his father’s concubine Bilhah, and Israel heard about it. Jacob had 12 sons.

The sons of Leah were Jacob’s firstborn Reuben, then Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.

“Judah, your brothers will praise you. Your hand will be on the neck of your enemies. Your father’s sons will bow down to you.

“Here are the names of the men who will help you: Elizur, son of Shedeur, from the tribe of Reuben;
