May the locks and bolts of your gates be made of iron and copper. May your strength last as long as you live.

“Asher’s food will be rich. He will provide delicacies fit for a king.

The Lord’s eyes scan the whole world to find those whose hearts are committed to him and to strengthen them. You acted foolishly in this matter. So from now on, you will have to fight wars.”

When I called, you answered me. You made me bold by strengthening my soul.

He makes the bars across your gates strong. He blesses the children within you.

He gives strength to those who grow tired and increases the strength of those who are weak.

Yet, the strength of those who wait with hope in the Lord will be renewed. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and won’t become weary. They will walk and won’t grow tired.

Don’t be afraid, because I am with you. Don’t be intimidated; I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will support you with my victorious right hand.

“The father said to his servants, ‘Hurry! Bring out the best robe, and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.

There isn’t any temptation that you have experienced which is unusual for humans. God, who faithfully keeps his promises, will not allow you to be tempted beyond your power to resist. But when you are tempted, he will also give you the ability to endure the temptation as your way of escape.

Finally, receive your power from the Lord and from his mighty strength.

Put on your shoes so that you are ready to spread the Good News that gives peace.

Don’t think these words are idle talk. They are your life! By these words you will be able to live for a long time in the land that you are going to take possession of when you cross the Jordan River.”

Obey his laws and commands which I’m giving you today. Then things will go well for you and your descendants. You will live for a long time in the land. The Lord your God is giving you the land for as long as you live.

The land will have enough food for you, and you will have everything you need. The land has rocks with iron ore, and you will be able to mine copper ore in the hills.

I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.

We ask him to strengthen you by his glorious might with all the power you need to patiently endure everything with joy.

I’m still as fit to go to war now as I was when Moses sent me out.
