They must not marry widows or women who have been divorced. They may marry only virgins from the nation of Israel or widows of priests.

He must never marry a widow, a divorced woman, a woman who has lost her virginity, or a prostitute. He may only marry a virgin from his own people.

You should never marry prostitutes, those who have lost their virginity, or divorced women because a priest is God’s holy man.

If a priest’s daughter is widowed or divorced, doesn’t have any children, and comes back to live in her father’s home, she may eat her father’s food. But a layperson must never eat it.

“But a widow or a divorced woman must keep her vow or her promise.

But I can guarantee that any man who divorces his wife for any reason other than unfaithfulness makes her look as though she has committed adultery. Whoever marries a woman divorced in this way makes himself look as though he has committed adultery.

He answered them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman is committing adultery.

But if the unbelieving partners leave, let them go. Under these circumstances a Christian man or Christian woman is not bound ⌞by a marriage vow⌟. God has called you to live in peace.

This is what you must do if a husband writes out a certificate of divorce, gives it to his wife, and makes her leave his house. (He divorced her because he found out something indecent about her and she no longer pleased him.)

If her second husband doesn’t love her and divorces her, or if he dies,
