God's Word

If anyone deliberately disobeys the priest (who serves the Lord your God) or the judge, that person must die. You must get rid of this evil in Israel.

If any of them didn’t come within three days as the leaders and the older men had advised, then they would lose all their property and be excluded from the community of former exiles.

Those who reject me by not accepting what I say have a judge appointed for them. The words that I have spoken will judge them on the last day.

Whenever you forgive sins, they are forgiven. Whenever you don’t forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

God will judge those who are outside. Remove that wicked man from among you.

I told you, but you wouldn’t listen. You defied the Lord’s command and invaded the mountain region.

The witnesses must start the execution, then all the other people will join them in putting the person to death. You must get rid of this evil.

But any prophet who dares to say something in my name that I didn’t command him to say or who speaks in the name of other gods must die.”

Out of all your tribes, the Lord your God has chosen the Levites and their descendants to do the work of serving in the name of the Lord forever.

and may serve in the name of the Lord his God like all the other Levites who do their work in the Lord’s presence.

You know what orders we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

Therefore, whoever rejects this ⌞order⌟ is not rejecting human authority but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

Reprimand those leaders who sin. Do it in front of everyone so that the other leaders will also be afraid.

Whoever rebels against your authority or does not obey your orders will be put to death. Just be strong and courageous!”

Now hand over those worthless men in Gibeah. We must put them to death to rid ourselves of this kind of evil in Israel.” But the men of Benjamin refused to listen to the men of Israel.
