God's Word

The Lord your God will bless you, as he promised. You will make loans to many nations, but you will not have to borrow from any of them. You will rule many nations, but no nation will ever rule you.

Solomon ruled all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River to the country of the Philistines and as far as the Egyptian border. These kingdoms paid taxes and were subject to Solomon as long as he lived.

He controlled all the territory west of the Euphrates River from Tiphsah to Gaza and all of its kings. So he lived in peace with all the neighboring countries.

Now, you were pleased to bless my house so that it may continue in your presence forever. Indeed, you, Lord, have blessed it. It will be blessed forever.”

He ruled all the kings from the Euphrates River to the country of the Philistines and as far as the Egyptian border.

Jerusalem has had powerful kings who have ruled the whole ⌞province⌟ west of the Euphrates. Taxes, fees, and tolls were paid to them.

You handed them over to their enemies, who made them suffer. When they began to suffer, they cried to you. You heard them from heaven. You gave them saviors to rescue them from their enemies because of your endless compassion.

All goes well for the person who is generous and lends willingly. He earns an honest living.

A wicked person borrows, but he does not repay. A righteous person is generous and giving.

He is always generous and lends freely. His descendants are a blessing.

A rich person rules poor people, and a borrower is a slave to a lender.

Rather, love your enemies, help them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then you will have a great reward. You will be the children of the Most High God. After all, he is kind to unthankful and evil people.

He will bless you only if you listen carefully to the Lord your God and faithfully obey all these commands I’m giving you today.

They will be able to make loans to you, but you won’t be able to make loans to them. They will be the head, and you will be the tail.
