He prayed to the Lord, and the Lord accepted his prayer and listened to his request. The Lord brought him back to his kingdom in Jerusalem. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.

Now, Lord our God, rescue us from Assyria’s control so that all the kingdoms on earth will know that you alone are the Lord.”

The nations are like a drop in a bucket and are considered to be like dust on a scale. The weight of the islands is like fine dust.

All the nations amount to nothing in his presence. He considers them less than nothing and worthless.

I will give you treasures from dark places and hidden stockpiles. Then you will know that I, the Lord God of Israel, have called you by name.

‘I used my great strength and my powerful arm to make the earth along with the people and the animals on it. I give it to anyone I please.

He changes times and periods of history. He removes kings and establishes them. He gives wisdom to those who are wise and knowledge to those who have insight.

Before the words came out of his mouth, a voice said from heaven, “King Nebuchadnezzar, listen to this: The kingdom has been taken from you.

He was chased away from people, and his mind was changed into an animal’s mind. He lived with wild donkeys, ate grass like cattle, and his body became wet with dew from the sky. This happened until he realized that the Most High God has power over human kingdoms. God puts whomever he wishes in charge of them.

The Lord did this so that everyone in the world would know his mighty power and that you would fear the Lord your God every day of your life.”
