God's Word

During the second year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, he had some dreams. He was troubled, but he stayed asleep.

That night the king could not sleep. So he told ⌞a servant⌟ to bring the official daily records, and they were read to the king.

The Lord spoke his word to Jeremiah about all the people of Judah when Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, was in his fourth year as king. (This was the first year that Nebuchadnezzar was king of Babylon.)

The king said to them, “I had a dream, and I’m troubled by it. I want to know what the dream was.”

I am pleased to write to you about the miraculous signs and amazing things the Most High God did for me.

I had a dream that terrified me. The visions I had while I was asleep frightened me.

King Belshazzar was terrified, and his face turned pale. His nobles didn’t know what to do.

Then the king went to his palace and spent the night without food or company. He couldn’t get to sleep.

In Belshazzar’s first year as king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream. He saw a vision while he was asleep. He wrote down the main parts of the dream.

I, Daniel, was deeply troubled, and my visions frightened me.
