I will send a fire on the house of Hazael and burn down the palaces of Ben Hadad.

The Lord told him, “Go back to the wilderness near Damascus, the same way you came. When you get there, anoint Hazael as king of Aram.

Then Jehoash, son of Jehoahaz, reconquered the cities that Benhadad had taken from his father Jehoahaz. Jehoash defeated Benhadad three times and recovered those cities of Israel.

So the Lord became angry with Israel and put it at the mercy of King Hazael of Aram and Hazael’s son Benhadad as long as they lived.

Later King Benhadad of Aram assembled his whole army. They went to Samaria and blockaded it.

Then Asa brought out all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the Lord’s temple and the royal palace. He sent them to Damascus to Aram’s King Benhadad.

But you must listen to me and observe the day of rest as a holy day by not carrying anything through the gates of Jerusalem on the day of rest. If you don’t do this, I will set its gates on fire. The fire will burn down the palaces in Jerusalem, and you won’t be able to put it out.”

“I will set fire to the walls of Damascus and burn down Benhadad’s palaces.”

Then they will know that I am the Lord, because I will set fire to Egypt and all her defenders will be killed.

I will send fire on Magog and on those who live safely on the coasts. Then they will know that I am the Lord.

The people of Israel have built palaces, and they have forgotten their maker. The people of Judah have built many fortified cities. I will send a fire on their cities and burn down their palaces.”

I will send a fire on the walls of Tyre and burn down its palaces.

I will send a fire on Teman and burn down the palaces of Bozrah.

I will set fire to the walls of Rabbah and burn down its palaces while troops are shouting on the day of battle and winds are howling on the day of the storm.

I will send a fire on the walls of Gaza and burn down its palaces.

I will send a fire on Moab and burn down the palaces of Kerioth. Moab will die during the noise of battle while troops are shouting and rams’ horns are blowing.

I will send a fire on Judah and burn down the palaces of Jerusalem.

God also paid back the men of Shechem for all their evil. So the curse of Jotham, son of Jerubbaal, came true.
