Acts 9:10

God's Word

A disciple named Ananias lived in the city of Damascus. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!” Ananias answered, “Yes, Lord.”

He split up his men to attack them at night. He defeated them, pursuing them all the way to Hobah, which is north of Damascus.

Later God tested Abraham and called to him, “Abraham!” “Yes, here I am!” he answered.

But if he says, ‘I’m not pleased with you,’ let him do to me what he considers right.”

The secret was revealed to Daniel in a vision during the night. So Daniel praised the God of heaven.

He said, “Listen to my words: When there are prophets of the Lord among you, I make myself known to them in visions or speak to them in dreams.

One day, about three in the afternoon, he had a vision. He clearly saw an angel from God come to him and say, “Cornelius!”

“I was praying in the city of Joppa when I fell into a trance. I saw something like a large linen sheet being lowered by its four corners from the sky. The sheet came near me.

Peter followed the angel out of the cell. He didn’t realize that what the angel was doing was actually happening. He thought he was seeing a vision.

As soon as Paul had seen the vision, we immediately looked for a way to go to Macedonia. We concluded that God had called us to tell the people of Macedonia about the Good News.

During the night Paul had a vision of a man from Macedonia. The man urged Paul, “Come to Macedonia to help us.”

One night the Lord said to Paul in a vision, “Don’t be afraid to speak out! Don’t be silent!

‘In the last days, God says, I will pour my Spirit on everyone. Your sons and daughters will speak what God has revealed. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.

“A man named Ananias lived in Damascus. He was a devout person who followed Moses’ Teachings. All the Jews living in Damascus spoke highly of him.

In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias place his hands on him to restore his sight.”

For three days he couldn’t see and didn’t eat or drink.

The governor under King Aretas put guards around the city of Damascus to catch me.

I didn’t even go to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was. Instead, I went to Arabia and then came back to Damascus.

Then the Lord called Samuel. “Here I am,” Samuel responded.
