Philip went to the city of Samaria and told people about the Messiah.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes to you. Then you will be my witnesses to testify about me in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The next day we went to Philip’s home in Caesarea and stayed with him. He was a missionary and one of the seven men who helped the apostles.

Every day in the temple courtyard and from house to house, they refused to stop teaching and telling the Good News that Jesus is the Messiah.

The suggestion pleased the whole group. So they chose Stephen, who was a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and they chose Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, who had converted to Judaism in the city of Antioch.

Saul approved of putting Stephen to death. On that day widespread persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem. Most believers, except the apostles, were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.

An angel from the Lord said to Philip, “Get up, and take the desert road that goes south from Jerusalem to Gaza.”

Philip ran to the carriage and could hear the official reading the prophet Isaiah out loud. Philip asked him, “Do you understand what you’re reading?”

Philip found himself in the city of Azotus. He traveled through all the cities and spread the Good News until he came to the city of Caesarea.

The crowds paid close attention to what Philip said. They listened to him and saw the miracles that he performed.

He immediately began to spread the word in their synagogues that Jesus was the Son of God.

but our message is that Christ was crucified. This offends Jewish people and makes no sense to people who are not Jewish.

While I was with you, I decided to deal with only one subject—Jesus Christ, who was crucified.

After all, no one can lay any other foundation than the one that is already laid, and that foundation is Jesus Christ.
