When he saw an Israelite man being treated unfairly by an Egyptian, he defended the Israelite. He took revenge by killing the Egyptian.
In the course of time Moses grew up. Then he went to ⌞see⌟ his own people and watched them suffering under forced labor. He saw a Hebrew, one of his own people, being beaten by an Egyptian.
He looked all around, and when he didn’t see anyone, he beat the Egyptian to death and hid the body in the sand.
When he was 40 years old, he decided to visit his own people, the Israelites.
Moses thought his own people would understand that God was going to use him to give them freedom. But they didn’t understand.
Do you want to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’
