Two years passed. Then Porcius Festus took Felix’s place. (Since Felix wanted to do the Jews a favor, he left Paul in prison.)

But Festus wanted to do the Jews a favor. So he asked Paul, “Are you willing to go to Jerusalem to be tried there on these charges with me as your judge?”

Since they were staying there for a number of days, Festus told the king about Paul’s case. Festus said, “Felix left a man here in prison.

When he saw how this pleased the Jews, he arrested Peter too. This happened during the days of Unleavened Bread.

Three days after Festus took over his duties in the province of Judea, he went from the city of Caesarea to Jerusalem.

Pilate wanted to satisfy the people, so he freed Barabbas for them. But he had Jesus whipped and handed over to be crucified.

Am I saying this now to win the approval of people or God? Am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be Christ’s servant.

Agrippa told Festus, “This man could have been set free if he hadn’t appealed his case to the emperor.”

A person’s fear sets a trap ⌞for him⌟, but one who trusts the Lord is safe.

Paul rented a place to live for two full years and welcomed everyone who came to him.

Festus replied that he would be returning to Caesarea soon and would keep Paul there.

he said, “I’ll hear your case when your accusers arrive.” Then the governor gave orders to keep Paul under guard in Herod’s palace.

Never follow a crowd in doing wrong. When you testify in court, don’t side with the majority to pervert justice.

They used the ropes to pull Jeremiah up and lift him out of the cistern. Then Jeremiah stayed in the courtyard of the prison.
