Judas and Silas, who were also prophets, spoke a long time to encourage and strengthen the believers.

I’m sending you prophets, wise men, and teachers of the Scriptures. You will kill and crucify some of them. Others you will whip in your synagogues and persecute from city to city.

That’s why the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles. They will murder some of those prophets and apostles and persecute others.’

When he arrived there, he was pleased to see what God had done for them out of kindness. So he encouraged all the people to remain solidly committed to the Lord.

At that time some prophets came from Jerusalem to the city of Antioch.

Barnabas, Simeon (called the Black), Lucius (from Cyrene), Manaen (a close friend of Herod since childhood), and Saul were prophets and teachers in the church in Antioch.

They strengthened the disciples in these cities and encouraged the disciples to remain faithful. Paul and Barnabas told them, “We must suffer a lot to enter God’s kingdom.”

Some men came from Judea and started to teach believers that people can’t be saved unless they are circumcised as Moses’ Teachings require.

Then the apostles, the spiritual leaders, and the whole church decided to choose some of their men to send with Paul and Barnabas to the city of Antioch. They chose Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, who were leaders among the believers.

We have sent Judas and Silas to report to you on our decision.

The church sent Paul and Barnabas ⌞to Jerusalem⌟. As they were going through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told the whole story of how non-Jewish people were turning to God. This story brought great joy to all the believers.

When the people read the letter, they were pleased with the encouragement it brought them.

Paul went through the provinces of Syria and Cilicia and strengthened the churches.

After spending some time in Antioch, Paul went through the regions of Galatia and Phrygia, where he strengthened ⌞the faith of⌟ all the disciples.

Peter said much more to warn them. He urged, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”

He went through that region and spoke many words of encouragement to the people. Then he went to Greece

God in his kindness gave each of us different gifts. If your gift is speaking what God has revealed, make sure what you say agrees with the Christian faith.

If it is encouraging others, devote yourself to giving encouragement. If it is sharing, be generous. If it is leadership, lead enthusiastically. If it is helping people in need, help them cheerfully.

He will continue to give you strength until the end so that no one can accuse you of anything on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Two or three people should speak what God has revealed. Everyone else should decide whether what each person said is right or wrong.

But when a person speaks what God has revealed, he speaks to people to help them grow, to encourage them, and to comfort them.

People who speak what God has revealed must control themselves.

In the past, this mystery was not known by people as it is now. The Spirit has now revealed it to his holy apostles and prophets.

You know very well that we treated each of you the way a father treats his children. We comforted you and encouraged you. Yet, we insisted that

we sent our brother Timothy to you. He serves God by spreading the Good News about Christ. His mission was to strengthen and encourage you in your faith

Now then, brothers and sisters, because of the Lord Jesus we ask and encourage you to excel in living a God-pleasing life even more than you already do. Do this the way we taught you.

We encourage you, brothers and sisters, to instruct those who are not living right, cheer up those who are discouraged, help the weak, and be patient with everyone.

Don’t despise what God has revealed.

We order and encourage such people by the Lord Jesus Christ to pay attention to their own work so they can support themselves.

First of all, I encourage you to make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and prayers of thanks for all people,

Be ready to spread the word whether or not the time is right. Point out errors, warn people, and encourage them. Be very patient when you teach.

I appeal to your spiritual leaders. I make this appeal as a spiritual leader who also witnessed Christ’s sufferings and will share in the glory that will be revealed.

God, who shows you his kindness  and who has called you through Christ Jesus to his eternal glory, will restore you, strengthen you, make you strong, and support you as you suffer for a little while.

I’ve written this short letter to you and I’m sending it by Silvanus, whom I regard as a faithful brother. I’ve written to encourage you and to testify that this is God’s genuine good will. Remain firmly established in it!
