Saul’s son had two men who were captains of raiding parties. One was named Baanah, and the other was named Rechab. They were the sons of Rimmon from Beeroth from the tribe of Benjamin. (Beeroth was considered a part of Benjamin,

and he swore an oath. He said, “I solemnly swear, as the Lord who has saved my life from all trouble lives,

the one who rescues your life from the pit, the one who crowns you with mercy and compassion,

He rescued them from the power of the one who hated them. He rescued them from the enemy.

Let the people the Lord defended repeat these words. They are the people he defended from the power of their enemies

⌞Righteous people⌟ cry out. The Lord hears and rescues them from all their troubles.

The Lord protects the souls of his servants. All who take refuge in him will never be condemned.

Come close, and defend my soul. Set me free because of my enemies.

My lips will sing with joy when I make music to praise you. My soul, which you have rescued, also will sing joyfully.

As I placed great value on your life today, may the Lord place great value on my life and rescue me from all trouble.”
