Once again there was a battle between the Philistines and Israel. So David and his men went to fight the Philistines, but David became exhausted.

A descendant of Haraphah named Benob, who had a bronze spear weighing 7½ pounds which he wore on a new belt, captured David and intended to kill him.

When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king of Israel, all of them came to attack David. But David heard about it and went to the fortress.

The Philistines again attacked and overran the valley of Rephaim.

David did as the Lord ordered him and defeated the Philistines from Geba to Gezer.

After this, David defeated and crushed the Philistines. He took control of the main Philistine city from them.

After this, war broke out with the Philistines at Gezer. Then Sibbecai from Hushah  killed Sippai, a descendant of Haraphah, and the Philistines were defeated.

Even when I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me live to tell the people of this age what your strength has accomplished, to tell about your power to all who will come.

Do not reject me when I am old or abandon me when I lose my strength.

My body and mind may waste away, but God remains the foundation of my life and my inheritance forever.

Remember your Creator when those who guard the house tremble, strong men are stooped over, the women at the mill stop grinding because there are so few of them, ⌞and⌟ those who look out of the windows see a dim light.
