Maybe the king will listen and rescue me, his subject, from the man who wants to cut off both me and my son from ⌞our⌟ God-given inheritance.’

He will rescue the needy person who cries for help and the oppressed person who has no one’s help.

When a divine revelation is on a king’s lips, he cannot voice a wrong judgment.

But the Lord’s people were his property. Jacob was his own possession.

Your Majesty, please listen to my words. If the Lord has turned you against me, let him be satisfied with an offering. But if mere mortals ⌞have turned you against me⌟, let them be cursed by the Lord. They have prevented me from having a share of the Lord’s inheritance. ‘Go and serve other gods,’ they tell me.
