But Absalom sent his loyal supporters to all the tribes of Israel and said, “When you hear the sound of the ram’s horn, say, ‘Absalom has become king in Hebron.’ ”

They said, “That’s not an answer. Please tell us.” Jehu replied, “We talked for a while, and he said to me, ‘This is what the Lord says: I have anointed you king of Israel.’ ”

with trumpets and the playing of a ram’s horn. Shout happily in the presence of the king, the Lord.

As he was riding along, people spread their coats on the road.
