“Please, Lord, remember how I’ve lived faithfully and sincerely in your presence. I’ve done what you consider right.” And he cried bitterly.

When Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to him. He said to Abram, “I am God Almighty. Live in my presence with integrity.

After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God for 300 years and had other sons and daughters.

May your hearts be committed to the Lord our God. Then you will live by his laws and keep his commands as you have today.”

Hezekiah turned to the wall and prayed to the Lord,

Isaiah hadn’t gone as far as the middle courtyard when the Lord spoke his word to him:

The Lord’s eyes scan the whole world to find those whose hearts are committed to him and to strengthen them. You acted foolishly in this matter. So from now on, you will have to fight wars.”

I also arranged for delivering wood at regular times and for bringing the first produce to be harvested. ⌞Nehemiah prayed,⌟ “Remember me, my God, for my benefit.”

Remember me, my God. Consider everything that I have done for these people.

A man named Job lived in Uz. He was a man of integrity: He was decent, he feared God, and he stayed away from evil.

The Lord asked Satan, “Have you thought about my servant Job? No one in the world is like him! He is a man of integrity: He is decent, he fears God, and he stays away from evil.”

Doesn’t your fear of God give you confidence and your lifetime of integrity give you hope?

I eat ashes like bread and my tears are mixed with my drink

I told you what I have done, and you answered me. Teach me your laws.

Remember the word ⌞you gave⌟ me. Through it you gave me hope.

The Lord is near to everyone who prays to him, to every faithful person who prays to him.

Do not remember the sins of my youth or my rebellious ways. Remember me, O Lord, in keeping with your mercy and your goodness.

Judge me favorably, O Lord, because I have walked with integrity and I have trusted you without wavering.

I see your mercy in front of me. I walk in the light of your truth.

Blessed is the person whom the Lord no longer accuses of sin and who has no deceitful thoughts.

Look away from me so that I may smile again before I go away and am no more.

I am worn out from my groaning. My eyes flood my bed every night. I soak my couch with tears.

My eyes blur from grief. They fail because of my enemies.

Remember how short my life is! Have you created Adam’s descendants for no reason?

Remember, O Lord, how your servant  has been insulted. Remember how I have carried in my heart ⌞the insults⌟ from so many people.

I chirped like swallows and cranes. I cooed like doves. My eyes were tired from looking up to heaven. I’ve suffered miserably, O Lord! Please help me!

Then his people remembered Moses and the distant past. Where is the one who brought them out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is the one who put his Holy Spirit in them?

if you take the oath, ‘As the Lord lives …’ in an honest, fair, and right way, then the nations will be blessed, and they will be honored by me.”

This is what the Lord says to the nation of Israel: Search for me and live!

Zechariah and Elizabeth had God’s approval. They followed all the Lord’s commands and regulations perfectly.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and remarked, “Here is a true Israelite who is sincere.”

We are proud that our conscience is clear. We are proud of the way that we have lived in this world. We have lived with a God-given holiness  and sincerity, especially toward you. It was not by human wisdom that we have lived but by God’s kindness.

During his life on earth, Jesus prayed to God, who could save him from death. He prayed and pleaded with loud crying and tears, and he was heard because of his devotion to God.
