When Elisha saw this, he cried out, “Master! Master! Israel’s chariot and horses!” When he couldn’t see Elijah anymore, he grabbed his own garment and tore it in two ⌞to show his grief⌟.

Then, to show his grief, Jacob tore his clothes, put sackcloth around his waist, and mourned for his son a long time.

Enoch walked with God; then he was gone because God took him.

Elisha became fatally ill. King Jehoash of Israel visited him, cried over him, and said, “Master! Master! Israel’s chariot and horses!”

Then he picked up Elijah’s coat (which had fallen off Elijah), went back, and stood on the bank of the Jordan River.

But Naaman’s servants went to him and said, “Master, if the prophet had asked you to do some extraordinary act, wouldn’t you have done it? Why shouldn’t you do as he said: ‘Wash and be clean’?”

When the king of Israel saw them, he asked Elisha, “Master, should I kill them? Should I kill them?”

He will rescue one who is not innocent. That person will be rescued by your purity.”

With the blessing of decent people a city is raised up, but by the words of wicked people, it is torn down.

“Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in the palm of his hand? Who has wrapped water in a garment? Who has set up the earth from one end to the other? What is his name or the name of his son? Certainly, you must know!

Wisdom will help a wise person more than ten rulers can help a city.

Then Isaiah, son of Amoz, sent a message to Hezekiah, “This is what the Lord God of Israel says: You prayed to me about King Sennacherib of Assyria.

The Lord your God may have heard the words of the field commander. His master, the king of Assyria, sent him to defy the living God. The Lord your God may punish him because of the message that the Lord your God heard. Pray for the few people who are left.”

After talking with the apostles, the Lord was taken to heaven, where he received the honored position—the one next to God the Father on the throne.

The angels left them and went back to heaven. The shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see what the Lord has told us about.”

While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken to heaven.

No one has gone to heaven except the Son of Man, who came from heaven.

After he had said this, he was taken to heaven. A cloud hid him so that they could no longer see him.

The angel told me, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul! You must present your case to the emperor. God has granted safety to everyone who is sailing with you.’

Devout men buried Stephen as they mourned loudly for him.

In our present tent-like existence we sigh, since we long to put on the house we will have in heaven.

While we are in this tent, we sigh. We feel distressed because we don’t want to take off the tent, but we do want to put on the eternal house. Then ⌞eternal⌟ life will put an end to our mortal existence.

That’s why the Scriptures say: “When he went to the highest place, he took captive those who had captured us and gave gifts to people.”

The witnesses heard a loud voice from heaven calling to them, “Come up here.” They went up to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them.

Micah told him, “Stay with me! Be a father and a priest to me. I’ll give you ten pieces of silver a year, a set of clothes, and your room and board.” The Levite accepted the offer
