Remember this: The farmer who plants a few seeds will have a very small harvest. But the farmer who plants because he has received God’s blessings will receive a harvest of God’s blessings in return.

Give, and you will receive. A large quantity, pressed together, shaken down, and running over will be put into your pocket. The standards you use for others will be applied to you.”

Whoever is generous will be blessed because he has shared his food with the poor.

Whoever has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his good deed.

God gives seed to the farmer and food to those who need to eat. God will also give you seed and multiply it. In your lives he will increase the things you do that have his approval.

God is fair. He won’t forget what you’ve done or the love you’ve shown for him. You helped his holy people, and you continue to help them.

Plant your seed in the morning, and don’t let your hands rest until evening. You don’t know whether this field or that field will be profitable or whether both of them will ⌞turn out⌟ equally well.

A wicked person earns dishonest wages, but whoever spreads righteousness earns honest pay.

Throw your bread on the surface of the water, because you will find it again after many days.

Let me explain further. Live your life as your spiritual nature directs you. Then you will never follow through on what your corrupt nature wants.

This is what I mean: The laws ⌞given to Moses⌟ 430 years after God had already put his promise ⌞to Abraham⌟ into effect didn’t cancel the promise ⌞to Abraham⌟.

But now Christ has come back from the dead. He is the very first person of those who have died to come back to life.

So I tell you and encourage you in the Lord’s name not to live any longer like other people in the world. Their minds are set on worthless things.

This is what I mean, brothers and sisters: The time has been shortened. While it lasts, those who are married should live as though they were not.

I say this so that no one will mislead you with arguments that merely sound good.

This is what I mean: Each of you is saying, “I follow Paul,” or “I follow Apollos,” or “I follow Cephas,”  or “I follow Christ.”

So I thought that I should encourage our coworkers to visit you before I do and make arrangements for this gift that you had already promised to give. Then it will be the blessing it was intended to be, and it won’t be something you’re forced to do.
