However, the Lord said to my father David, ‘Since you had your heart set on building a temple for my name, your intentions were good.

“Tell the Israelites to choose something to give me as a special contribution. You must accept whatever contribution each person freely gives.

Those who could give silver or bronze brought it as their contribution to the Lord. Those who had acacia wood that could be used in the construction brought it.

Every Israelite man and woman who was willing brought all these items to the Lord as a freewill offering. They brought these items to be used to make everything the Lord had commanded through Moses.

Choose something of your own to give as a special contribution to the Lord. Let everyone who is willing bring this kind of contribution to the Lord: gold, silver, and bronze,

Loyalty is desirable in a person, and it is better to be poor than a liar.

The one who had four thousand dollars did the same and also doubled his money.

“The one who received four thousand dollars came and said, ‘Sir, you gave me four thousand dollars. I’ve doubled the amount.’

Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with a lot. Whoever is dishonest with very little is dishonest with a lot.

So finish what you began to do. Then your willingness will be matched by what you accomplish

I don’t mean that others should have relief while you have hardship. Rather, it’s a matter of striking a balance.

More than that, the churches elected him to travel with us and bring this gift of God’s kindness. We are administering it in a way that brings glory to the Lord and shows that we are doing it willingly.

Each of you should give whatever you have decided. You shouldn’t be sorry that you gave or feel forced to give, since God loves a cheerful giver.

Each of you as a good manager must use the gift that God has given you to serve others.
