All King Solomon’s cups were gold, and all the utensils for the hall ⌞which he called⌟ the Forest of Lebanon were fine gold. (Nothing was silver, because it wasn’t considered valuable in Solomon’s time.)

Twelve lions stood on six steps, one on each side. Nothing like this had been made for any other kingdom.

The king had ships going to Tarshish with Huram’s sailors. Once every three years the Tarshish ships would bring gold, silver, ivory, apes, and monkeys.

The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedars as plentiful as fig trees in the foothills.

People drank from golden cups. No two cups were alike. The king also provided plenty of royal wine out of his royal generosity.

Stop trusting people. Their life is in their nostrils. How can they be worth anything?

Once again you will plant vineyards on the mountains of Samaria. Those who plant them will enjoy the fruit.

But I say that not even Solomon in all his majesty was dressed like one of these flowers.
