David and all Israel were celebrating in God’s presence with all their might, with songs, with lyres, harps, tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.

The priests Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer blew trumpets in front of God’s ark. Obed Edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.

David was dressed in a fine linen robe, as were all the Levites who carried the ark, the ⌞Levites who were⌟ singers, and Chenaniah, the leader of the musicians’ prophetic songs. David also wore a linen ephod.

They were appointed to stand to give thanks and praise to the Lord every morning. They were appointed to do the same thing in the evening.

4,000 were appointed to be gatekeepers, and 4,000 were appointed to praise the Lord with the instruments David had made for praising God.

These are the men who served (their descendants also served): The musician Heman was from Kohath’s family line. Heman was the son of Joel, who was the son of Samuel,

Heman’s relative Asaph stood on his right. He was the son of Berechiah, who was the son of Shimea,

He had the Levites stand in the Lord’s temple with cymbals, harps, and lyres as David, the king’s seer  Gad, and the prophet Nathan had ordered. This command came from the Lord through his prophets.

The Levites stood with David’s instruments, and the priests had the trumpets.

The priests were standing at their posts. So were the Levites who had the Lord’s musical instruments which King David made for praising the Lord with “his mercy endures forever” and which he used to offer praise. The priests were opposite the Levites blowing trumpets while all Israel was standing ⌞there⌟.

Let them praise his name with dancing. Let them make music to him with tambourines and lyres,

The Lord, the only true God, has spoken. He has summoned the earth from where the sun rises to where it sets.

My soul waits calmly for God alone. My salvation comes from him.

The singers are in front. The musicians are behind them. The young women beating tambourines are between them.

O Lord God, my savior, I cry out to you during the day and at night.

on a ten-stringed instrument and a harp and with a melody on a lyre.

The seven angels with the seven plagues came out of the temple wearing clean, shining linen with gold belts around their waists.

She has been given the privilege of wearing dazzling, pure linen.” This fine linen represents the things that God’s holy people do that have his approval.
