Manasseh misled Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem so that they did more evil things than the nations that the Lord had destroyed when the Israelites arrived in the land.

So the Lord will desert Israel because of Jeroboam’s sins, the sins which he led Israel to commit.”

He did what the Lord considered evil, living as his father did, leading Israel into the same sins.

In addition to his sin that he led Judah to commit in front of the Lord, Manasseh also killed a lot of innocent people from one end of Jerusalem to the other.

But the Lord still didn’t turn his hot, burning anger from Judah. After all, Manasseh had done all these things to make him furious.

The Lord humbled Judah because of King Ahaz of Israel. Ahaz had spread sin throughout Judah and was unfaithful to the Lord.

When the Lord spoke to Manasseh and his people, they wouldn’t even pay attention.

He did what the Lord considered evil by copying the disgusting things done by the nations that the Lord had forced out of the Israelites’ way.

I will never again remove Israel from the land that I set aside for their ancestors if they will obey all the commands, all the teachings, the ordinances, and the regulations ⌞I gave⌟ through Moses.”

If a ruler pays attention to lies, all his servants become wicked.

“So this is what the Almighty Lord says: ⌞People of Jerusalem,⌟ you have caused more trouble than the nations around you. You haven’t lived by my laws or obeyed my rules. You haven’t even lived up to the standards of the nations around you.

“Do not become unclean in any of these ways. By these practices all the nations which I am forcing out of your way have become unclean.

You have kept Omri’s laws and all the practices of the descendants of Ahab, and you have followed their advice. That is why I will ruin you. Your people will be ridiculed. You will bear the disgrace of my people.”

These people were as strong, as numerous, and as tall as the people of Anak. But the Lord wiped them out before the Ammonites came so that the Ammonites claimed their land and took their place.

“After that I brought you to the land of the Amorites who lived on the east side of the Jordan River. They fought you. However, I handed them over to you. So you took their land, and I destroyed them in front of you.
