In the first month of his first year as king, he opened the doors of the Lord’s temple and repaired them.

Ahaz collected the utensils in God’s temple, cut them up, and closed the doors to the Lord’s temple. He made altars for himself on every corner in Jerusalem.

They started on the first day of the first month. On the eighth day they went into the Lord’s entrance hall, and for eight days they performed the ceremonies to make the Lord’s temple holy. They finished on the sixteenth day of the first month.

He brought the priests and Levites together in the square on the east side ⌞of the temple⌟.

They also shut the doors of the ⌞temple’s⌟ entrance hall, extinguished the lamps, and didn’t burn incense or sacrifice burnt offerings in the holy place to the God of Israel.

In the eighth year of his reign, while he was still a boy, he began to dedicate his life to serving the God of his ancestor David. In his twelfth year as king, he began to make Judah and Jerusalem clean  by destroying the illegal places of worship, poles dedicated to the goddess Asherah, carved idols, and metal idols.

I will not put anything wicked in front of my eyes. I hate what unfaithful people do. I want no part of it.

“Set up the tent (the tent of meeting) on the first day of the first month of the year.

Whatever presents itself for you to do, do it with ⌞all⌟ your might, because there is no work, planning, knowledge, or skill in the grave where you’re going.

But first, be concerned about his kingdom and what has his approval. Then all these things will be provided for you.

to show me his Son. He did this so that I would tell people who are not Jewish that his Son is the Good News. When this happened, I didn’t talk it over with any other person.
