As they moved on, God made the people of the cities that were all around them terrified so that no one pursued them.

(The Lord had made the Aramean army hear what sounded like chariots, horses, and a large army. The Aramean soldiers said to one another, “The king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!”

Asa and his troops pursued them as far as Gerar. Many of the Sudanese died in battle. As a result, the Sudanese army couldn’t fight again. It was crushed in front of the Lord and his army. The Lord’s army captured a lot of goods.

It attacked all the cities around Gerar because the cities were afraid of the Lord. The army looted all the cities because there were many things to take.

Fear of the Lord came to all the kingdoms around Judah. As a result, they didn’t wage war against Jehoshaphat.

So they brought harps, lyres, and trumpets to the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem.

The Lord is fighting for you! So be still!”

He made the wheels of their chariots come off so that they could hardly move. Then the Egyptians shouted, “Let’s get out of here! The Lord is fighting for Israel! He’s against us!”

“I will send my terror ahead of you and throw any nation you meet into a panic. I will make all your enemies flee from you.

All the Amorite kings west of the Jordan River and all the Canaanite kings along the Mediterranean Sea heard that the Lord had dried up the Jordan River so that the Israelites could cross. So they lost heart and had no courage left to face the people of Israel.
