But who is able to build him a temple when heaven itself, the highest heaven, cannot hold him? Who am I to build him a temple except as a place to sacrifice in his presence?

King David went into the tent and sat in front of the Lord. “Who am I, Almighty Lord,” he asked, “and why is my house so important that you have brought me this far?

King Solomon had Hiram brought from Tyre.

Hiram was the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphtali. His father, a native of Tyre, was a skilled bronze craftsman. Hiram was highly skilled, resourceful, and knowledgeable about all kinds of bronze craftsmanship. He came to King Solomon and did all his ⌞bronze⌟ work.

“Does God really live on earth? If heaven itself, the highest heaven, cannot hold you, then how can this temple that I have built?

You have many kinds of workers: stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and men skilled in every kind of work.

But who am I and who are my people that you enable us to give so generously? Everything comes from you. We give you only what has come from your hands.

Give me wisdom and knowledge so that I may lead these people. After all, who can judge this great people of yours?”

“Does God really live on earth with people? If heaven itself, the highest heaven, cannot hold you, then how can this temple that I have built?

But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the people of Israel out of Egypt?”

He knows how to cut and set stones and how to work with wood. He’s an expert in all trades.

This is what the Lord says: Heaven is my throne. The earth is my footstool. Where can you build a house or resting place for me?

“No one can hide so that I can’t see him,” declares the Lord. “I fill heaven and earth!” declares the Lord.

To some people we are a deadly fragrance, while to others we are a life-giving fragrance. Who is qualified to tell about Christ?

I am the least of all God’s people. Yet, God showed me his kindness by allowing me to spread the Good News of the immeasurable wealth of Christ to people who are not Jewish.

Then the Lord your God will choose a place where his name will live. You must bring everything I command you to that place. Bring your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, one-tenth of your income, your contributions, and all the best offerings you vow to bring to the Lord.

Instead, sacrifice them ⌞only⌟ at the place that the Lord will choose in one of your tribes. There you must do everything I command you.

Take the holy things and the offerings you have vowed to bring, and go to the place the Lord will choose.
