David asked him, “To whom do you belong? Where do you come from?” “I’m an Egyptian, the slave of an Amalekite,” the young man answered. “My master left me behind because I got sick three days ago.

David asked the young man who had brought him the news, “Where are you from?” And the young man answered, “I’m an Amalekite, the son of a foreign resident.”

“Where did you come from?” David asked him. “I escaped from the camp of Israel,” he answered.

A righteous person cares ⌞even⌟ about the life of his animals, but the compassion of wicked people is ⌞nothing but⌟ cruelty.
