So Samuel told Eli everything. Eli replied, “He is the Lord. May he do what he thinks is right.”

The Lord came down in a cloud and stood there with him and called out his name “the Lord.”

Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The Lord’s word that you have spoken is good.” He added, “Just let there be peace and security as long as I live.”

The prophet Jeremiah told all these things to King Zedekiah of Judah in Jerusalem.

King Zedekiah sent for the prophet Jeremiah and brought him to the third entrance in the Lord’s temple. “I’m going to ask you a question,” the king said to Jeremiah. “Don’t hide anything from me.”

The prophet Jeremiah answered them, “I have listened to your request. I will pray to the Lord your God as you have requested, and I will tell you everything the Lord says. I won’t keep anything from you.”

“Why should any living mortal (any person) complain about being punished for sin?

Moses said to Aaron, “This is exactly what the Lord said: ‘I will show my holiness among those who come to me. I will show my glory to all the people.’ ” Aaron was speechless.

Be humbled by God’s power so that when the right time comes he will honor you.

The people of Israel said to the Lord, “We have sinned. Do to us whatever you think is right. But please rescue us today!”
