Then Saul took 3,000 of the best-trained men from all Israel and went to search for David and his men on the Rocks of the Wild Goats.

Saul gave up pursuing David and went to fight the Philistines. So that place was called Slippery Rock.

Saul went to the desert of Ziph, taking with him 3,000 of Israel’s best-trained men to search for David.
