He told his mother, “You were upset about the 1,100 pieces of silver that were taken from you. I even heard you put a curse on them. Here’s the silver. I took it!” His mother said, “The Lord bless you, my son!”
May the Lord reward you for what you have done! May you receive a rich reward from the Lord God of Israel, under whose protection you have come for shelter.”
“Don’t be afraid,” he told David, “my father Saul won’t find you. You will rule Israel, and I will be your second-in-command. Even my father Saul knows this.”
Then Saul said, “Blessed are you, my servant David. You will accomplish many things and certainly will succeed.” So David went his way, while Saul returned home.
