“Do not boast ⌞or⌟ let arrogance come out of your mouth because the Lord is a God of knowledge, and he weighs ⌞our⌟ actions.

Hear ⌞them⌟ in heaven, where you live. Forgive ⌞them⌟, and take action. Give each person the proper reply. (You know what is in their hearts, because you alone know what is in the hearts of all people.)

⌞then⌟ let God weigh me on honest scales, and he will know I have integrity.

Our Lord is great, and his power is great. There is no limit to his understanding.

They have shut out all feeling. Their mouths have spoken arrogantly.

Let ⌞their⌟ lying lips be speechless, since they speak against righteous people with arrogance and contempt.

wouldn’t God find out, since he knows the secrets in our hearts?

Don’t raise your weapons so proudly or speak so defiantly.”

They ramble. They speak arrogantly. All troublemakers brag about themselves.

A person thinks all his ways are pure, but the Lord weighs motives.

When you say, “We didn’t know this,” won’t the one who weighs hearts take note of it? Won’t the one who guards your soul know it? Won’t he pay back people for what they do?

To fear the Lord is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, evil behavior, and twisted speech.

The path of the righteous is level. O Upright One, you make the road of the righteous smooth.

Whom are you defying and slandering? Against whom are you shouting? Who are you looking at so arrogantly? It is the Holy One of Israel!

I, the Lord, search minds and test hearts. I will reward each person for what he has done. I will reward him for the results of his actions.

You bragged and continually talked against me. I heard you.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, will praise, honor, and give glory to the King of Heaven. Everything he does is true, his ways are right, and he can humiliate those who act arrogantly.

Weighed—you have been weighed on a scale and found to be too light.

“You have used harsh words against me,” says the Lord. “You ask, ‘How have we spoken against you?’

God’s word is living and active. It is sharper than any two-edged sword and cuts as deep as the place where soul and spirit meet, the place where joints and marrow meet. God’s word judges a person’s thoughts and intentions.

They said, “The Lord is ⌞the only true⌟ God! The Lord is ⌞the only true⌟ God! He knows, so let Israel know! If our act is rebellious or unfaithful to the Lord,

I will kill her children. Then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches hearts and minds. I will reward each of you for what you have done.

Then Zebul said to him, “Where is your big mouth now? You were the one who said, ‘Who’s Abimelech that we should serve him?’ Aren’t these the troops ⌞whose ruler⌟ you despised? Now go out and fight him.”

But the Lord told Samuel, “Don’t look at his appearance or how tall he is, because I have rejected him. God does not see as humans see. Humans look at outward appearances, but the Lord looks into the heart.”
