“Thanks be to the Lord God of Israel. With his mouth he made a promise to my father David; with his hand he carried it out. He said,

When David had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and the fellowship offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of Armies.

“Now, Lord God, keep the promise you made to me and my house forever. Do as you promised.

“Say to my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord says: Are you the one who will build me a house to live in?

Thanks be to the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting.” Then all the people said amen and praised the Lord.

He will build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever.

He will build a temple for my name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. I will establish the throne of his kingdom permanently over Israel.’ ”

he praised the Lord while the whole assembly watched. David said, “May you be praised, Lord God of Israel, our father forever and ever.

Then David said to the whole assembly, “Praise the Lord your God!” So the whole assembly praised the Lord God of their ancestors and knelt in front of the Lord and the king.

On the fourth day they gathered in the valley of Beracah. Because they thanked the Lord there, that place is still called the valley of Beracah [Thanks] today.

Then the Levites—Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah—said, “Stand up, and thank the Lord your God: From everlasting to everlasting your glorious name is praised and lifted high above all blessing and praise.

But we will thank the Lord now and forever. Hallelujah!

I will bow toward your holy temple. I will give thanks to your name because of your mercy and truth. You have made your name and your promise greater than everything.

Thank the Lord God of Israel through all eternity! Amen and amen!

But if you refuse and rebel, you will be destroyed by swords.” The Lord has spoken.

The earth and the heavens will disappear, but my words will never disappear.

“Praise the Lord God of Israel! He has come to take care of his people and to set them free.

He made this promise through his holy prophets long ago.

He has shown his mercy to our ancestors and remembered his holy promise,

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Through Christ, God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing that heaven has to offer.

Every single good promise that the Lord had given the nation of Israel came true.

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! God has given us a new birth because of his great mercy. We have been born into a new life that has a confidence which is alive because Jesus Christ has come back to life.

David said to Abigail, “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who sent you today to meet me.
