As long as Solomon lived, Judah and Israel (from Dan to Beersheba) lived securely, everyone under his own vine and fig tree.

So my advice is to gather all Israel’s troops from Dan to Beersheba, since they are as numerous as the sand on the seashore. Lead them into battle yourself.

So the Lord sent a plague among the Israelites from that morning until the time he had chosen. Of the people from Dan to Beersheba, 70,000 died.

Don’t listen to Hezekiah, because this is what the king of Assyria says: Make peace with me! Come out and give yourselves up to me! Everyone will eat from his own grapevine and fig tree and drink from his own cistern.

You will say, “I’ll attack a land with unwalled villages. I will attack peaceful people who live safely. All of them live without walls, locks, or gates.

When they live safely in a land where no one will frighten them, they will forget their shame and all the unfaithful things they have done against me.

They will sit under their grapevines and their fig trees, and no one will make them afraid. The Lord of Armies has spoken.

On that day,” declares the Lord of Armies, “each of you will invite your neighbor to sit under your vine and fig tree.”

All the people of Israel from Dan to Beersheba and from Gilead came to Mizpah. The congregation stood united in the presence of the Lord.

All Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew Samuel was the Lord’s appointed prophet.
