The king of Israel went out and destroyed the horses and chariots and decisively defeated the Arameans.

Each officer killed his opponent. The Arameans fled, and Israel pursued them. King Benhadad of Aram escaped on a horse with the cavalry.

Then the prophet came to the king of Israel and said, “Reinforce your army. Consider what you have to do. When spring comes, the king of Aram will attack ⌞again⌟.”

The Lord considers that an easy thing to do. In addition, he will put Moab at your mercy.

So when the Moabites came to Israel’s camp, the Israelites attacked them, and they fled from the Israelites. Israel went after the Moabites and defeated them.

Joshua and the Israelites defeated them decisively, almost destroying them. But some who survived got back into the fortified cities.

He defeated them from Aroer to Minnith and on to Abel Keramim, 20 cities in all. It was a decisive defeat. So the Ammonites were crushed by the people of Israel.

He told them, “Follow me! The Lord will hand your enemy Moab over to you.” They followed him and captured the shallow crossings of the Jordan River that led to Moab and refused to let anyone cross.

Then the soldiers of Israel and Judah rose up, shouted a battle cry, and pursued the Philistines as far as Gath and to the gates of Ekron. Wounded Philistines lay on the road to Shaaraim and all the way to Gath and Ekron.

When war broke out again, David went to fight the Philistines. He defeated them so decisively that they fled from him.
