Elijah said, “I solemnly swear, as the Lord of Armies whom I serve lives, I will present myself to Ahab.”

Heaven and earth and everything in them were finished.

Elijah, who was from Tishbe but had settled in Gilead, said to Ahab, “I solemnly swear, as the Lord God of Israel whom I serve lives, there will be no dew or rain during the next few years unless I say so.”

I solemnly swear, as the Lord your God lives, my master has searched for you in every region and kingdom. When people would say, ‘He isn’t here,’ my master made that kingdom or region take an oath that they hadn’t found you.

Now you say that I should tell my master that Elijah is here. He will kill me.”

So Obadiah went to tell Ahab. Ahab went to meet Elijah.

Micaiah answered, “I solemnly swear, as the Lord lives, I will tell him whatever the Lord tells me.”

Is there any ⌞limit to the⌟ number of his troops? Is there anyone on whom his light does not rise?

Praise the Lord, all his armies, his servants who carry out his will.

They called to each other and said, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory.”

But at that time I will rescue you, declares the Lord. You will not be handed over to those you fear.

They will be spread out and exposed to the sun, the moon, and all the stars in the sky. These are the things that they had loved, served, gone after, sought, and worshiped. Their bones will not be gathered or buried, but they will become manure on the ground.

The angel answered him, “I’m Gabriel! I stand in God’s presence. God sent me to tell you this good news.

But your assistant Joshua, son of Nun, will go there. Encourage him, because he will help Israel take possession of the land.

Don’t let yourselves be tempted to worship and serve what you see in the sky—the sun, the moon, the stars, or anything else. The Lord your God has given them to all people everywhere.
