He found the body of the man thrown on the road. He also found the donkey and the lion standing beside it. The lion had not eaten the body, nor had it torn the donkey to pieces.

Elijah left and did what the Lord’s word ⌞had told him⌟. He went to live by the Cherith River, which is east of the Jordan River.

But after some time the stream dried up because no rain had fallen in the land.

They will not be put to shame in trying times. Even in times of famine they will be satisfied.

Trust the Lord, and do good things. Live in the land, and practice being faithful.

The Israelites ate manna for 40 years until they came to a place to settle. They ate manna until they came to the border of Canaan.

This person will live on high. His stronghold will be a fortress made of rock. He will have plenty of food and a dependable supply of water.

King Zedekiah gave the command to have Jeremiah put in the courtyard of the prison. He gave him a loaf of bread every day from the bakers’ street until all the bread in the city was gone. So Jeremiah stayed in the courtyard of the prison.

Today I’m removing the chains from your hands. If you would like to come with me to Babylon, come, and I’ll look after you. But if you don’t want to come with me to Babylon, don’t come. The whole land is yours. Go wherever you want.

The Lord asked Moses, “Is there a limit to the Lord’s power? Now you will see whether or not my words come true.”

Jesus looked at them and said, “It is impossible for people ⌞to save themselves⌟, but everything is possible for God.”

Then Jesus said to them, “When I sent you out without a wallet, traveling bag, or sandals, you didn’t lack anything, did you?” “Not a thing!” they answered.

God did this so that we would be encouraged. God cannot lie when he takes an oath or makes a promise. These two things can never be changed. Those of us who have taken refuge in him hold on to the confidence we have been given.

So Samson said to them, “From the eater came something to eat. From the strong one came something sweet.” For three days they couldn’t solve the riddle.
