“The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me. His words were on my tongue.

He has sacrificed many fattened calves, bulls, and sheep. He has invited all the king’s sons, Abiathar the priest, and Joab the commander of the army ⌞to his feast⌟. But he hasn’t invited your servant Solomon.

Otherwise, my son Solomon and I will be treated like criminals when you lie down in death with your ancestors.”

So be careful, because the Lord has chosen you to build the temple as his holy place. Be strong, and do it.”

Then King David said to the whole assembly, “My son Solomon, the one whom God has chosen, is young and inexperienced. Yet, the work is important because this palace is not for a person but for the Lord God.

You’re our God. Won’t you judge them? We don’t have the strength to face this large crowd that is attacking us. We don’t know what to do, so we’re looking to you.”

As servants depend on their masters, as a maid depends on her mistress, so we depend on the Lord our God until he has pity on us.

My eyes are always on the Lord. He removes my feet from traps.

“Look at the stone I have set in front of Joshua. That one stone has seven eyes. I am engraving an inscription on it,” declares the Lord of Armies. “I will remove this land’s sin in a single day.
