You already have what you want! You’ve already become rich! You’ve become kings without us! I wish you really were kings so that we could be kings with you.

One person pretends to be rich but has nothing. Another pretends to be poor but has great wealth.

⌞Like⌟ a dense fog or a dust storm, ⌞so⌟ is a person who brags about a gift that he does not give.

How horrible it will be for those who think they are wise and consider themselves to be clever.

He said, “Amen! May the Lord do this! May the Lord make your prophecy come true and bring back the utensils of the Lord’s temple and all the captives from Babylon to this place.

But Moses asked him, “Do you think you need to stand up for me? I wish all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them.”

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up a mountain and sat down. His disciples came to him,

How horrible it will be for those who are well-fed. They will be hungry. How horrible it will be for those who are laughing. They will mourn and cry.

Paul replied, “I wish to God that you and everyone listening to me today would quickly and completely become as I am (except for being a prisoner).”

Because of the kindness  that God has shown me, I ask you not to think of yourselves more highly than you should. Instead, your thoughts should lead you to use good judgment based on what God has given each of you as believers.

Through Christ Jesus you have become rich in every way—in speech and knowledge of every kind.

Some of you have become arrogant because you think I won’t pay you a visit.

It’s not good for you to brag. Don’t you know that a little yeast spreads through the whole batch of dough?

I want you to put up with a little foolishness from me. I’m sure that you will.

We’re glad when we are weak and you are strong. We are also praying for your improvement.

So if any one of you thinks you’re important when you’re really not, you’re only fooling yourself.

Live as citizens who reflect the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come to see you or whether I stay away, I’ll hear all about you. I’ll hear that you are firmly united in spirit, united in fighting for the faith that the Good News brings.

My dear friends, you have always obeyed, not only when I was with you but even more now that I’m absent. In the same way continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

You say, ‘I’m rich. I’m wealthy. I don’t need anything.’ Yet, you do not realize that you are miserable, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.

You made them a kingdom and priests for our God. They will rule as kings on the earth.”
