They stripped him and took his head and his armor. Then they sent men throughout Philistine territory to tell their idols and the people this good news.

Don’t tell the news in Gath. Don’t announce the victory in the streets of Ashkelon, or the daughters of the Philistines will be glad, and the daughters of godless men will celebrate.

So the head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, who took it to her mother.
