You welcomed him on his return with special blessings; you placed a crown of pure gold on his head.

How wonderful is the goodness you have reserved for those who honor you! In front of everyone you give this goodness to those who come to you for help.

In his trustworthy love, God will come and save me. He will show me how my enemies are defeated.

Who has ever given anything to God that God would be obliged to repay?

Or is it that you're treating his wonderful kindness, tolerance, and patience with contempt, not realizing that God in his kindness is trying to lead you to repent?

Praise God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with all that's spiritually good in the heavenly world,

But we see Jesus, for a little while placed a little lower than the angels, through the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor. Through God's grace Jesus experienced death for everyone.

His eyes were like flaming fire. On his head were many crowns. He had a name written on him which no one but he himself knows.

Samuel took the flask of olive oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and the Spirit of the Lord came on David in power from that day on. Then Samuel left and returned to Ramah.
