Moses and Aaron left the people and went to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. There they fell facedown on the ground, and the glory of the Lord appeared to them.

Moses and Aaron fell facedown on the ground in front of all the assembled Israelites.

“Get away from these people and I will finish them off immediately.” Moses and Aaron fell facedown on the ground.

In reply all the people shouted out, “Stone them!” But the glory of the Lord suddenly appeared in the Tent of Meeting, right in the middle of the Israelites.

The Lord came down in a pillar of cloud and stood in the entrance to the Tent. He called Aaron and Miriam and they came forward.

Moses cried out to the Lord, “What am I going to do with these people? A bit more of this and they're going to stone me!”

While Aaron was still speaking to all the Israelites, they looked toward the desert and saw the glory of the Lord appear in a cloud.
