Looking around at all those sitting there in a circle, he said, “Here is my mother! Here are my brothers!
I will tell my people all the wonderful things you have done; I will praise you in the congregation.
Then Jesus said to them, “Don't be afraid! Go and tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”
“Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” he responded.
He was amazed at their lack of trust. Jesus traveled around the villages, teaching as he went.
“Don't hold onto me,” Jesus said to her, “for I haven't yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers and tell them I am ascending to my Father and your Father, my God and your God.”
For God, choosing them in advance, set them apart to be like his Son, so that the Son would be the first of many brothers and sisters.
