On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the time when the Passover lamb is sacrificed, Jesus' disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and prepare the Passover meal for you?”

In the first month you are to eat bread without yeast from the evening of the fourteenth day until the evening of the twenty-first day.

Keep it until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the Israelites will slaughter the animals after sunset and before it gets dark.

They are to roast the meat over a fire and eat it that night, together with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.

So Moses told the people, “Remember this is the day you left Egypt, the land of your slavery, for the Lord led you out of it by his amazing power. (Nothing with yeast in it shall be eaten.)

“Please do so, because it's good for us to do what God says is right,” Jesus told him. So John agreed to do it.

It was now two days before Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The chief priests and the religious leaders were trying to find a surreptitious way to arrest Jesus and have him killed.

When they heard this, they were delighted, and promised to pay him. So Judas began to look for an opportunity to betray Jesus.

He sent two of his disciples, telling them, “Go into the city and there you'll meet a man carrying a water pot. Follow him,

But at the appropriate time God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the rule of law,

Don't sacrifice the Passover animal in any of the towns that the Lord your God is giving you.
